Karabar Preschool
At Karabar Preschool, we value each child as a unique individual who is an independent thinker; who is able to make choices, share and learn new knowledge; and develop skills which will assist in their life-long learning journey.
We utilise a combination of teaching strategies within our educational program to ensure that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through the development of children’s self-esteem, pride, and confidence we endeavour to create a love of and curiosity about learning which they will take with them on their future learning journey.
Karabar Preschool is a single unit preschool located at 191 Cooma Street (directly behind Queanbeyan YMCA); offstreet parking is available at the preschool.

Karabar Preschool offers a 2-day extended (7.5 hour) program or 3-day (6 hour) program on the following days/times:
Joey's Group
Mon/Tues/Wed from 8.45am - 2.45pm
Koala's Group
Thursday & Friday from 8.15am - 3.45pm

Building Relationships
Building relationships with families is the foundation of our program and we work collaboratively to create goals for each child’s learning and participation in our program. Our program reflects an anti-bias, gender inclusive and culturally diverse approaches to learning which can be seen through our philosophy which focuses on community and relationships.
Stay Connected With The OWNA App
Karabar Preschool utilises the OWNA app as a tool to develop and record our educational program and to share stories of learning and other communication with families. We combine this with the use of a Floorbook which records the evidence of the process of play and the learning that comes from it. The features of a Floorbook include children’s ideas and thoughts; open ended questions; collaborative learning; project work; sharing children’s voices; and a variety of methods of presenting thinking and subsequent learning.

Our educators have a strong commitment to the importance of quality early childhood education with a wealth of knowledge and experience. We love that we are a small preschool and believe that we have created a family-orientated environment which promotes a sense of wellbeing and belonging for children and their families.
