Management Committee

Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association (QDPA) is a not-for-profit, community-based Preschool Association. Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association is run by a Management Committee which is compromised of the QDPA Managing Director (Mandy Jackson), QDPA Finance Manager (Jill Thompson), and a minimum of seven (7) volunteer parent representatives and community members. The Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association Management Committee meets on a monthly basis to make financial, strategic and policy decisions regarding the running of the Association. Each Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association Preschool also has a Director who is responsible for the day to day running of their preschool.

The Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association Management Committee strives to provide high quality and affordable community preschools, as well as create environments where families feel comfortable leaving their children and a place where high quality educators will want to work and make a difference in the lives of young children.

The Management Committee, in conjunction with QDPA’s Managing Director and Preschool Directors, determines centre staff requirements and ensures that staffing and qualifications are maintained at a level consistent with the delivery of high quality programs that are above National Quality Standards. Management understand and supports the philosophy behind providing continuity of care. Children's education and care will be prioritised by maintaining core teams of educators & relief staff in all Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association Preschool classrooms and educational programs.

P&C Committee

In addition to a Management Committee, Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association also has a P&C Committee which is made up of volunteer parent representatives elected for each of the association preschools. The P&C are responsible for fundraising for the Association, organising parent social events, as well as providing feedback and acting as a voice for individual preschools and families on their preschool experience.

Parents are warmly welcomed and encouraged to become involved in both Management and P&C Committee activities. The P&C Committee meets monthly - dates of the meetings are added to termly Parent Newsletters and displayed in the foyer. All parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend meetings - being part of the P&C or Management Committee is a great way to get to know other parents, families and be involved in the running of your preschool.
