Management Committee
Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association (QDPA) is a not-for-profit community-based Preschool. QDPA is run by a Management Committee which is composed of the QDPA Executive Officer (Ashleigh Daly), QDPA Finance Manager (Jill Thompson) and a minimum of seven (7) volunteer parent and community representatives. The QDPA Management Committee meet on a monthly basis to make financial, strategic and policy decisions regarding the running of the Association. Each individual Preschool within QDPA also has a Director who is responsible for the day-to-day running of their Preschool.
The Management Committee, in conjunction with the Executive Officer and Finance Manager, determines staff requirements and ensures that staffing and qualifications are maintained at a level consistent with the delivery of high-quality programs that are above the National Quality Standards. Management understands and supports the importance of a philosophy centred to providing high quality continuity of care, and this is provided by maintaining core teams of educators and casual staff in all QDPA Preschool classrooms and educational programs.
P&C Committee
In addition to a Management Committee, QDPA also has a P&C Sub-Committee, which is made of volunteer parent representatives elected for the Association’s preschools. The P&C are primarily responsible for fundraising for the Association, organising parent social events, as well as provided feedback and acting as a voice for individual Preschools and families around their preschool experience.
Joining the Management Committee
The QDPA AGM is held in March each year, where all positions are declared vacant, and members are elected for the next 12-month period. Appointments can be made outside of this in the event of a vacancy.
