QDPA Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

Vision for Reconciliation

Queanbeyan & District Preschool Association (QDPA) promotes an organisational and educational culture which values and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

We recognise that children’s connection to their community is essential to their sense of belonging and that Preschool plays a key role in cultivating relationships within the community. We will therefore strive to promote an inclusive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, beliefs and traditions are recognised, valued and shared to ensure that they are carried forward to future generations through the children, families and Educators belonging to our Preschool community and the wider community.

Through ongoing relationships and implementation of the principles, practices and outcomes of The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), we will ensure that the knowledge and experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures is incorporated into our teaching, learning, research and community engagement.

In looking to the future, we acknowledge and respect the histories, cultures and heritage that informs both who we are as individuals and as a community and where we have come from. We will collectively build our understanding for a better future based on stronger relationships, high quality Early Childhood education and equal opportunity for all Australians.
